[The journals will be graced by a familiar, soft voice that was quiet for a while.]

I... see that I am back in this place once more. [The voice sounds resigned yet concealed by an otherwise neutral tone. Hinata's really not too happy to be back.] I suppose that the others are still here, then?

[There's a pause as she begins recalling her memories. It takes some time since these memories are still a bit hazy.] Kiba-kun, Shikamaru-kun...? Tenten-san, Sakura-san...

[She trails off because the next name she's going to say is being held back by this lump in her throat.]

... Naruto-kun? Are all of you still here? [Before she waits for a response, Hinata is already on the move.] I- I will be heading back to my apartment. I will see you all, then. Please be well.

[And the voice transmission cuts.]

[At that sudden greeting, Hinata blinks. The enthusiasm can't help but make her smile, though.]

Ah- hello there. [She tries to remember if she had spoken to this voice before and figures she hasn't yet.] I'm afraid I haven't... conversed with you before?

Nope! I'm new here. My name's Aang! What's yours?

I see. I- I would have thought so.

[Her smile widens even if Aang can't see it.] My name is Hinata. It's nice to meet you, Aang-kun.

It's nice to meet you too! Are you having trouble finding your friends?

Oh, it's fine. I'm sure I will be able to find some of them later. [Really, with these eyes? She can find practically anything or anyone.]

How- how about you? Do you have your friends here as well?

That's a good attitude! Are you good at finding people?

Yeah! A lot of my friends are here already. Not all of them, but most of the ones I've traveled with the most. Now a bunch of us live together, it's really fun so far!

I am. It's... our team's specialty. [She would have said it's her specialty but she doesn't want to brag.]

I'm glad for you, then. It's always nice to be with your friends wherever you may be. You can overcome anything when you have them. [Speaking through experience? Oh yes.]

Cool! You have a whole team? What do they do?

That's really true, Hinata. I don't know where I'd be without mine. [Well he did know. Probably still in an iceberg, or goofing around somewhere, while the Fire Lord razed the world.]

Oh, we specialize on tracking. [Anything and anyone.]

I feel the same way. [She doesn't know where she'll be without Naruto. Or the others.] My friends give me strength.

That sounds cool! Heh, me and my friends are the ones who wind up getting tracked all the time.

I'm glad we're on the same page here!

[At the mention of winding up getting tracked all the time, Hinata can't help but worry.] Ah- Why is this so?

I try not to tell people, but back in my world, I'm known as an Avatar. I'm supposed to maintain peace and balance in the world. But there were people who wanted war instead of peace, really bad guys, so they hunted me down, and my friends too. There were a lot of different people trying to hunt us... like someone who had a shirshu that tracked us by scent, and a guy who shot exploding beams! We all turned out okay.

That- that was terrible. [She figured everyone has their own crosses to carry but it doesn't make them any less horrible.] I'm relieved you and your friends came out alright. The good should always prevail, after all.

Yep. Things were scary for a while, but... good did prevail!

Do you track bad guys?

That's nice to hear.

[Relieving too!]

[At his question, though--] Ah, yes, I do. We go on missions where we track them down. Sometimes, we get to engage them in battle.

Nice! That sounds pretty fun, except for the fighting. You must be pretty strong!

[Hinata gets a fanboy lol. But seriously, she never viewed herself as someone strong. Years of second guessing herself has taught her that.] O- Oh. Um, I'm really not.

[Aang has some trouble believing this - he hasn't dealt so much with people lacking self-confidence, and maybe he's also unconsciously associating her with Toph due to faint physical resemblances.] Really? I guess I can't tell because I've never seen you in action! But if you beat your enemies, then you have to be pretty strong.

[She only gives a soft smile to that.]

I really just try my best.

Then you can't be going wrong.

I- I suppose that's true.
